I grew up in Motherwell, Scotland where my family ran the Old Mill Hotel. Every Sunday night in the bar we had big bands and sing-alongs. Throughout the week, there was always band equipment set up on the stage; as a kid I would spend hours playing the different instruments. I first fell in love with the violin and the piano, then the old acoustic guitar that someone gave my sister with only 3 strings on it. I used to pluck the hymns I would hear in church and old Scottish melodies. I bought my very own guitar when I was 18, and I've been workin' my mojo ever since... |
